# GoCardless

> How to connect GoCardless to Pike, request direct debit mandates from customers, and collect invoices automatically on the due date.

The GoCardless integration collects Pike invoices by direct debit. Request a mandate from a customer once, and invoices for that customer are collected automatically on the due date. It suits retainers and recurring invoices.

## Connect GoCardless

1. Go to **Workspace settings** → **Integrations** → **GoCardless**.
2. Click **Add integration**.
3. Authorize Pike in the GoCardless popup.

Only workspace admins can connect or disconnect GoCardless.

## Mandates

From a customer page, click **Request direct debit mandate**. Pike emails the customer a GoCardless mandate link. Once the customer completes it, the active mandate shows on the customer.

## What syncs

Invoices for customers with an active mandate are collected automatically on the due date. GoCardless payment status updates the invoice in real time.

| GoCardless payment status | Pike invoice |
| - | - |
| Pending | Payment pending |
| Confirmed | Payment confirmed |
| Paid out | Paid |
| Failed | Flagged, and the invoice owner is notified |

## Disconnect

Disconnecting GoCardless stops automatic collection and keeps all recorded payments. Invoices keep their payment history.

## Permissions

Payment details on an invoice follow Pike roles: people who can see the invoice see its payments.

## Limits

* One GoCardless account per workspace.
* Only currencies and schemes that GoCardless supports.
