# Salesforce

> How to connect Salesforce to Pike and which accounts, contacts, and opportunities sync into customers and deals.

The Salesforce integration syncs accounts, contacts, and opportunities into Pike customers and [deals](https://usepike.com/docs/customers/deals.md). Sales keeps working in Salesforce. When an opportunity is won, delivery staffs the project in Pike, and Pike writes the project link back to the opportunity.

## Connect Salesforce

1. Go to **Workspace settings** → **Integrations** → **Salesforce**.
2. Click **Add integration**.
3. Sign in to Salesforce in the popup with a user who can read accounts, contacts, and opportunities, and approve Pike.

Only workspace admins can connect or disconnect Salesforce. One Pike workspace connects to one Salesforce org.

## Import data

On the integration page, click **Import data**. The stepper runs entities in dependency order, so Pike reads accounts before the contacts and opportunities that belong to them. It skips entities whose **Read** toggle is off, names them, and links to sync settings.

## What syncs

| Salesforce | Pike | Direction |
| - | - | - |
| Accounts | Customers | Salesforce to Pike |
| Contacts on an account | Customer contacts | Salesforce to Pike |
| Opportunities | [Deals](https://usepike.com/docs/customers/deals.md) | Salesforce to Pike |
| Opportunity amount and close date | Deal value and expected close | Salesforce to Pike |
| Opportunity owner | Deal owner, matched by email | Salesforce to Pike |
| Pike project link | **Pike project** field on the opportunity | Pike to Salesforce, when **Send** is on |

### Stages

Map each opportunity stage to a Pike deal stage in the integration settings. **Closed Won** maps to **Won** and **Closed Lost** to **Lost** by default. A won deal shows in Pike ready for a project, and planned hours on its proposed project count as proposed capacity until you confirm it.

### Owners

The opportunity owner becomes the Pike deal owner when the Salesforce user's email matches a workspace member. Otherwise the deal keeps the Salesforce owner name as reference.

### Project link

With **Send** on for opportunities, creating a project from a won deal writes the project URL and status to a **Pike project** field on the opportunity. Account managers see delivery status in Salesforce without a Pike seat. Pike adds the field to the opportunity object when you turn **Send** on.

### Source of truth

Once a record is linked, Salesforce owns account, contact, and opportunity fields, and Pike reads them back. Pike-only fields, such as the linked project, allocations, and internal notes, stay in Pike.

### Schedule

Pike reads changes from Salesforce every 15 minutes. **Import data** and **Refresh** always run on demand.

## Sync settings

While Salesforce is connected, the **What syncs with Salesforce** card sits under the top button row on the integration page. Toggles save immediately.

| Entity | Read | Send |
| - | - | - |
| Accounts | Yes | Not available |
| Contacts | Yes | Not available |
| Opportunities | Yes | Yes, off by default |

New connections start with **Read** on for everything and **Send** off.

## Synced records

Every synced record shows the Salesforce marker, "Last synced {time}" or "Not synced yet", and a **Refresh** action. **Refresh** shows only while **Read** is on for that entity.

### Sync issues

Records that fail to sync appear in the **Sync issues** list on the integration page, with the record, the reason, and a **Retry** action. The integration never deletes Pike data on its own. A record removed in Salesforce is marked "Removed in Salesforce" in Pike, never deleted.

## Disconnect

Disconnecting Salesforce stops syncing and keeps all imported data. Linked records keep their history.

## Permissions

Synced data respects Pike roles and private projects. A private project's link and status never sync to Salesforce.

## Limits

* Pike does not create accounts, contacts, or opportunities in Salesforce.
* Custom objects do not sync.
* Opportunities sync only when their account syncs.
