# Getting started

> Get started with Pike based on your user role

# Welcome to Pike

Pike is your new workflow tool to handle everything from planning, managing and running projects successfully in one single powerful application.

This guide will help you get started based on your user role in Pike. It includes what you will primarily use the platform for, links to helpful video walkthroughs, and how to reach out to support if needed.

## Getting Started

<Steps>
  <Step title="Access the Platform">
    Open Pike in your browser at [**app.usepike.com**](https://app.usepike.com).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check your invitation">
    Your administrator creates your user when they invite you. You do not need the invitation email to get started: if they can see you are invited in Pike, go to [app.usepike.com](https://app.usepike.com) and sign in. After you sign in, any pending workspace invitations appear so you can click Accept and join.

    Invites are often emailed from [no-reply@updates.usepike.com](mailto:no-reply@updates.usepike.com); that message is optional if you already know you were added. If you expected an email and did not get one, check spam or ask your administrator to confirm the invite.

    Your email address on the user record still matters for sign-in: the one-time magic link is sent to that address when you use email-based login.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Sign in with a one-time link to your email, or with Google or Microsoft, depending on what your workspace allows. After you have joined a workspace, you can keep using the same method (or the options your admin has enabled).
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Microsoft and your first login: if you complete your first sign-in using the
  one-time email link, you cannot switch to Sign in with Microsoft on your own
  afterward. Contact [support](mailto:support@usepike.com) if you need Microsoft
  authentication after starting with the email link. If your company
  standardizes on Microsoft, confirm with your admin before you sign in the
  first time.
</Warning>
