The Dropbox integration links Dropbox files and folders to Pike projects, tasks, and customers, and creates a project folder for every new project. Files stay in Dropbox, with Dropbox sharing and permissions. Pike keeps the link next to the work.

Turn on Dropbox

  1. Go to Workspace settings → Integrations → Dropbox.
  2. Click Add integration and sign in with a Dropbox account.
Only workspace admins can turn Dropbox on or off. On Dropbox Business, a Dropbox team admin can approve the Pike app for the team.

Connect your account

Go to Settings → Connections and connect your Dropbox account. Each member connects their own account, so Pike opens only files that member can open in Dropbox.

Attach files and folders

On a project, task, or customer, open Files and click Add → Dropbox. The Dropbox picker opens. Pick one or more files or folders.
  • Pike shows the name, type, owner, last modified date, and a thumbnail where Dropbox has one.
  • Click an attachment to open it in Dropbox.
  • Paste a Dropbox link into a task description or comment, and Pike shows it as a preview card.

Project folders

Turn on Create project folders in the integration settings and choose a team folder or a folder you choose. Each new Pike project then gets a Dropbox folder named Customer / Project number Project name, with the subfolders from its project template, such as Contracts, Briefs, and Deliverables.
  • The folder is linked on the project’s Files tab.
  • Renaming the project in Pike renames the folder.
  • Archiving the project in Pike leaves the folder as it is.

Disconnect

Turning Dropbox off removes the picker and stops creating project folders. Links already attached stay and open in Dropbox for anyone with access there. Members can disconnect their own account under Settings → Connections.

Permissions

Dropbox decides who can open a file. Pike shows an attachment to members who can see the project, task, or customer, and Dropbox decides whether they can open it. Private projects stay private.

Limits

  • Pike links to files. It does not copy or store them.
  • Paper docs open in Dropbox.
