Migration guide
Export Certinia PSA objects with Salesforce Data Export, map them to Pike templates, and connect Salesforce for accounts and opportunities. Budget five to six weeks to cutover.
Available now
Certinia PSA stores projects, resources, rate cards and timecards as Salesforce objects, so the Salesforce Data Export service produces them as a zip archive of CSV files.
Export Now is available only after enough time has passed since the last export: weekly on Enterprise, Performance and Unlimited Editions, and every 29 days on Professional and Developer Editions. Plan the cutover export around that interval.
Available now
Certinia PSA runs inside Salesforce, so your accounts, contacts and opportunities are already in the org that Pike’s Salesforce integration reads. Connect it, and sales keeps working in Salesforce while delivery moves to Pike.
Pike’s Salesforce integration reads accounts, contacts and opportunities, and writes back only the Pike project link on the opportunity. PSA projects, resources and timecards come from the CSV export.
Entity map
Column one uses Certinia PSA labels. A resource is a Salesforce contact with **Is Resource** selected, and timecards record one week per line. Pike matches people on the email on each resource’s contact record.

Pike: Deals
Carries over: Pike’s Salesforce integration imports opportunities as deals.
You set in Pike: Map each opportunity stage to a Pike deal stage.
Pike: Invoice history (from your ledger)
Carries over: Pike has no CSV template for invoices. Certinia releases billing events to your finance system, which creates the invoice.
You set in Pike: Connect the ledger and run Import data. New invoices go out from Pike from cutover.
Certinia prices a timecard from the bill rate card linked to its assignment, with role defaults on rate cards set per account, region, practice or group. Pike reads one `hourlyRate` per project, so use the Suggested Bill Rate (or dated resource rate) that applies to most of the project’s assignments.
Each resource record stores a default cost rate, and each rate card stores an Average Cost Rate per role. Set each Pike cost profile from the resource’s default cost rate, and compare margin with Certinia where a cost rate card applies.
Certinia records Bookings from Customer PO budgets and Planned Hours on the project. Fill `budgetAmount` from Bookings and `budgetHours` from Planned Hours, and map Billing Type to `fixedFee` or `timeAndMaterials`. Projects with Billable cleared map to `nonBillable`.
The plan
The same steps as the main migration guide, with this tool's screens and settings.
Week 1
Migration owner, Salesforce admin
Week 1 · Migration owner, Salesforce admin
The zip you export in week one is what Pike imports. Freeze edits in Certinia before you export.
Done when: The zip downloaded to one folder, the export date written down, and a cutover Friday on the calendar.
Week 1 to 2
Operations lead
Week 1 to 2 · Operations lead
Work in copies of the Certinia files and keep the raw zip untouched. Join records on their Salesforce IDs, then rename columns to Pike template columns.
Done when: Every project row has a project number, a customer number, a billing type and a budget amount.
Week 2
Workspace admin
Week 2 · Workspace admin
Admins set up Pike before the first upload, so imported projects have a lead and imported members have a team.
Done when: Admins and leads are in Pike. Sales sees the same accounts and opportunities in Pike as in Salesforce.
Week 2 to 3
Workspace admin
Week 2 to 3 · Workspace admin
Upload under Workspace settings → Integrations → CSV. Pike reports a missing customer number, project number or email with its line number.
Done when: Project, resource and last-month hour counts match Certinia.
Week 3 to 5
Delivery lead, finance
Week 3 to 5 · Delivery lead, finance
The CSV route has no ongoing sync. The pilot team logs time in Pike only, and everyone else submits timecards in Certinia until cutover.
Done when: One invoice sent from Pike. The pilot lead signs off.
Week 5 to 6
Migration owner
Week 5 to 6 · Migration owner
Close Certinia timecards on Friday evening and upload every hour logged there since your first export.
Done when: Time admin shows every active member by Monday afternoon. Certinia shows no timecards after Friday.
Week 6 to 9
Finance
Week 6 to 9 · Finance
Done when finance closes a month without releasing a Certinia billing event.
Done when: Month closed in Pike. Certinia exports saved with two owners. License change agreed.

Questions
Salesforce makes Export Now available only after enough time has passed since the last export: weekly on Enterprise, Performance and Unlimited Editions, every 29 days on Professional and Developer Editions. Check the date before you fix the cutover Friday.
Salesforce deletes the zip 48 hours after it sends the email. Download it straight away, and copy it to a shared folder before anyone starts cleaning files.
A Certinia timecard records one resource on one project for a week, from Start Date to End Date, with hours per day. Pike’s time entries template takes one `date` per row, so split each line into daily rows.
Your sales team can keep working in Salesforce. Pike reads accounts, contacts and opportunities from it, and writes the Pike project link back to each opportunity when Send is on.
Pike has no CSV template for invoices. Certinia sends released billing events to your finance system, which creates the invoices, so connect that system to Pike if it is on the Pike integrations list.
