Overview
In Pike, teams are designed to empower every group within your organization, whether it’s marketing, sales, engineering, customer support, or any other function. You can find teams in the sidebar in two ways: under the Workspace section or through the dedicated Teams dropdown menu. This accessibility ensures that you can easily navigate to the teams relevant to your work.Team home
Each team has a Home page at/teams/{acronym}. Open it from the team header tabs or the Home link under a team in the sidebar.
The team home page shows:
- Name, icon, and acronym — editable inline for admins and managers
- Members — who belongs to the team, with a link to the member directory
- Projects — count of projects linked to the team
- Created date
- Description — saves automatically as you type (admins and managers)
- Labels — create, edit, and delete team-specific labels inline
Sidebar teams
Home, tasks, and projects from the sidebar dropdown.
Workspace capacity
Workspace-wide and team-scoped allocation views.
Team navigation
When you open a team, the header shows tabs for:- Home — team overview and settings
- Tasks — all tasks for the team
- Projects — projects linked to the team
- Allocations — capacity heatmap and timeline scoped to that team’s members

- Update the description — changes save automatically while you type
- Manage labels in the Labels section
Deleting teams
To delete a team, administrators should open the team home page or the workspace teams list and follow the deletion process. For more information about team deletion and recovery options, please refer to the Settings/Trash documentation.Team labels
Labels are powerful tools for organizing tasks within teams. Each team can have its own set of labels on the team home page, making it easier to categorize and track tasks. Here’s how labels enhance team organization:Label features
- Custom colors: Each label can have its own color for easy visual identification
- Team-specific: Labels are scoped to specific teams, preventing confusion across different teams
- Inline management: Admins and managers create, rename, recolor, and delete labels directly on team home
- Flexible categorization: Labels can be used to create custom List / Board task views, where tasks are automatically grouped into columns based on their assigned labels. This provides a visual workflow management system tailored to your team’s needs.
Example labels
Here are some common label examples with their typical colors:- 🔴 Bug (Red)
- 🟢 Feature (Green)
- 🔵 Documentation (Blue)
Team allocations
The Allocations tab on a team shows the same capacity heatmap and timeline as Members → Resource allocation, scoped to that team’s members only. Use it to plan workload for one team without scanning the whole workspace. Switch between Capacity heatmap and Timeline, and apply the same filters (time period, projects, proposed/confirmed, skills, and more). Heatmap cells stack confirmed (solid) and proposed (hatch) hours unless you isolate one side. See Workspace capacity for how available and allocated hours are calculated.Collaborate across teams
Pike facilitates collaboration by allowing projects to be shared across multiple teams. This feature enhances the potential for cross-team collaboration, enabling diverse groups to work together effectively on shared objectives.Team management
As an admin, you have exclusive authority to:- Create new teams
- Edit team details (title, description, icon, color, acronym) on team home
- Manage team membership
- Create and manage team-specific labels on team home
- Delete teams (with recovery options in Settings/Trash)
